The Art of Connecting

What we have learned from the past two years is that knowing your neighbours has been so important to communities as they make it through the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that we are looking to the future and rethinking how we can make communities essential, we need to focus on Connection. Why is connection so important to building community? How can we develop deeper relationships with those who we work with and in our neighborhoods. What do we do with the new connections?

In this interactive workshop we will introduce Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), the principles and practices with a focus on building connections through the discovery of gifts and assets. We walk through an asset mapping exercise and how to use it to create projects and activities that will foster a sense of belonging and connection.
